Quality You Can Trust – No Surprises
At Equilhaul (based in Seatte, WA), we grade every trailer and shipping container with military precision. Here’s how we define condition, so you know exactly what to expect.
1. Shipping Containers
Grades:
- New (One-Trip):
- Condition: Virtually pristine. Minor scuffs from a single international shipment.
- Best For: Retail pop-ups, offices, or sensitive storage (e.g., furniture, documents).
- Features: Original paint, no dents, watertight doors.
- Used (Cargo-Worthy):
- Condition: Functional but shows wear. May have dents or rust spots (cosmetic only).
- Best For: Construction sites, farm storage, or DIY projects.
- Features: CSC-certified, structurally sound floors/walls.
- Wind & Watertight (WWT):
- Condition: Older units with faded paint and minor repairs (e.g., patched holes).
- Best For: Non-sensitive storage (e.g., tools, equipment).
Our Washington Guarantee:
- All containers are pressure-washed and inspected for Pacific Northwest mold before sale.
2. Trailers (Horse, Dump, Enclosed, Food)
Condition Tiers:
- New:
- Features: Never titled, 0-mile axles, full factory warranty.
- Includes: Manufacturer manuals, DOT compliance stickers, and virgin tires.
- Used – Premium:
- Condition: Light use (1–3 years old). Minimal wear on floors/hitches.
- Inspection: Brakes, lights, and welds tested by our Tacoma workshop.
- Example: A 2022 horse trailer with new rubber flooring.
- Used – Refurbished:
- Condition: Older models restored to work-ready status.
- Upgrades: Fresh paint, replaced wiring, and reinforced ramps.
- Best For: Budget buyers needing heavy-duty performance.
Red Flags We Fix:
- Cracked welds, axle misalignment, or faulty brake systems (repaired before sale).
3. How We Inspect
For Shipping Containers:
- Exterior: Check for dents, rust (we treat minor spots with POR-15).
- Interior: Inspect flooring for rot and walls for odor (no chemical residue).
- Doors: Test locking rods and rubber seals (replace if leaky).
For Trailers:
- Frame: Laser-alignment check for bends or cracks.
- Mechanical: Test brakes, lights, and hitch coupling.
- Cosmetic: Note scratches or paint chips (photos provided in listings).
4. Washington-Specific Standards
- Rustproofing: All used trailers get a fluid film coating to resist Puget Sound humidity.
- Road-Ready: Used dump trailers include a WA State Patrol inspection checklist.
- Food Trailers: Deep-cleaned to meet King County Health Department standards.
5. Customization & Repairs
- Need Modifications? Our Seattle workshop can:
- Add ventilation to used containers.
- Weld new ramps onto refurbished dump trailers.
- Install WA-compliant LED lights on enclosed trailers.
